BSA Book Prize short-listing for Rachel Condry

Congratulations to Rachel Condry whose book Familes Shamed :The consequences of crime for relatives of serious offenders (published by Willan in May 2007) has been short-listed for the British Sociological Association Philip Abram Memorial Book Prize 2008. This prize was established in honour of the memory of Professor Philip Abrams and to stimulate new ideas and fresh research in sociology by encouraging new British authors.
Families Shamed is one of four books to make the short-list along with Rethinking Modernity: Postcolonial and Sociological Imagination by Gurminder K. Bhambra, Market Citizenship: Experiments in Democracy and Globalisation by Amanda Root, and Shyness and Society by Susie Scott.
The award is due to be presented on Friday 28th March 2008 at the BSA Annual Conference taking place at the University of Warwick, UK.
